President’s Cup Final 2022, Creigiau Golf Club
The President’s Cup has certainly embedded itself in the Glamorgan calendar and a slight change from top 16 to top 8 competing was eagerly anticipated by all the players who qualified through the Order of Merit. The new Match play format, for the top 8 players in the order of merit, was played off at Mountain Ash Golf Club followed by an amazing final at Creigiau Golf Club on a sunny weekend in October.
The opening day at Mountain Ash was a cold and cloudy affair and there were several very tight games.
The final consisted of lasts years winner, Craig Melding of Neath Golf Club playing a fellow member Ryan Nedza. A glorious afternoon at Creigiau Golf Club certainly brought out the best in Ryan. A very strong start which Ryan capitalised on and unfortunately Welsh International Craig was unable to claw back the deficit with Ryan wining on the 14th Hole.
