On what was to be one of the warmest days so far the W.S. Colt Cup at Radyr promised to be a fantastic day of competition golf.
And did it deliver…
The Course was in immaculate condition and with a full field of 66 the day promised to be very competitive.
Coming out on top with an incredible second round score of 66 improving on the morning score of a respectable 72 was Machynys’ Richard Hooper.
An incredible performance to take the win in the first Order of Merit competition of the season.
Mr Ieuan Phillips from Newport coming second with a combined score of 141, 3 shots back from the winner. An incredible score of 65 in the afternoon to put him in contention.
Craig Melding of Neath delivered a great second round of 68 improving on the mornings score of 73 but was beat on count back and came in 3rd position for the day.
Thanks to all staff and members at Radyr Golf Club for the way the course has been set up and particularly to Christian & Lloyd who looked after all of the competitors on the day.
