WHTC 2025 West Qualifier

The Welsh Handicap Team Championship West Qualifier was won by Maesteg 1 team. Team members Gareth John, Andrew John, Jason Merchant and Evan Pryce, pictured with County President Ed Morgan,  scored 105 points in the best 3 cards out of 4 team event. The Grove 1 team Gavin Davies, Mike Jones, Ricky Newman and Dan Ryan finished in second place on 94 points beating Swansea Bay 1 by virtue of having the highest fourth card score.

Mond Valley was playing very tough and some early rain compounded the difficulty. The individual competition was won by Jason Merchant with a very good score of 40 points with home player Nick Creaser winning second prize on countback after scoring 36 points. Mond Valley was in excellent condition and thanks go to everyone at the club for their warm welcome and hospitality.
