Within Glamorgan Golf we pride ourselves on our Junior Pathway allowing our players to have the opportunity to access the various levels of coaching and support throughout their time with us as juniors.

Our aim is to identify those boys with the potential and dedication required to play not only at a County level with Glamorgan, but potentially at National level with Wales Golf.

To provide the very best coaching from some of the most experienced coaches in Wales and our County.  Our National Coach Mr Neil Matthews will be assisted by coaches around Glamorgan.

There are various entry points into our Boys’ coaching and these are as follows:

• Under 12 Development Squad with Paul Melding and Nick Watson
• Under 14’s with Mark Evans, Paul Davies and Jason Thomas
• Under 16s with Clayton Jones and Nick Barnes
• Under 18’s with James Pontin, Rhodri Jones and Geraint Jones
• We assess player performance from our Order of Merit Events.
• We would also consider applications for talented juniors from our affiliated clubs.
All players are assessed by the County age group managers along with the coaches, to consider their ability to be included within the winter/spring coaching programme. There are numerous matches & competitions held throughout the year at both County and National level. The main focus is around local order of merit events, our County events and National Tournaments.We are always looking at new players and whether you have been involved at County level before or not, we monitor the progress of our County juniors through Glamorgan Championships and other national competitions, which the U18 management team and coaches will attend.
